The only thing standing between you and your goals is your lack of execution.

Welcome, Everyone!

I want to give a quick intro about myself, the purpose of this blog, and how I plan to use it moving forward.

TL:DR - I plan to use this blog to note the things I learned, projects that I've completed, and hardships I come across on my journey in learning back-end tech, starting with Python ๐Ÿ˜

A Little About Myself

My name is Pete, I'm 26, I'm currently a Line Cook at a scratch kitchen and have been in the restaurant industry for 10 years now (way to long for my liking). I go into the idea of breaking into tech mostly because it's a better income source and I want to be able to provide for my future family. I was too distracted with living the restaurant party life and about a year ago I changed a lot of my ways and it's time to make a comeback and live a better healthier life.

My hobbies are running, writing, and hanging out my lovely girlfriend.

I ran 3 half-marathons and planning to do 2 more races before the year ends (2023).

I'm currently studying and working on a Network+ Certification(Cyber security certification) course and a Maven Analytics (Data Analytics) course.

The big goal here is to become either a Python dev, Data Analyst, or get into Cyber Security or potentially go for a Security Engineer or Cyber Data Analyst role.

My Plans for This Blog

I wanted to have some accountability and a way to note the things I learn daily to reference when I need to. Also, I plan to write often to be a better technical writer. I want to use this blog to solidify my learnings and in hopes that it can help me break into tech.

My first goal is to learn Python.

I plan to use Udemy since the cost is very reasonable for courses, and it should be a good starting point for me to get the basics down. So, I purchased a course: 100 days of code for Python which will give me daily projects to do to refine my skill. The goal is to go through all 100 days by doing at least a unit from each course per day starting tomorrow, August 25th, 2023. Today, I will just get myself prepped and set my learning schedule moving forward.
